Create a course
The steps in creating a Teachpoint course are the following:
- Design the outline of your course,
and convert this to a course document.
- Generate lesson and exercise documents.
- Put all these files online on your "home" server.
Content files will be read from this server by the Teachpoint server
and cached; other files, such as images, will be read from
this server as students take the course.
Make sure the location of the content files
matches the url_base tag of the course file.
- Find a Teachpoint server,
either the server at www.teachpoint.com
or one that you install and operate yourself.
- Create an account for yourself on this server.
- Go to the developer home page, click on Create Course,
and enter the URL of your course file.
- If your course or content files have syntax
errors, correct them and create the course again.
- When the course is created successfully,
not the URL of its home page.
Test the course.
- Distribute the home page URL of your course to students.
- Periodically use the Teachpoint tools to analyze your course.
- If you want to change the course, modify the files
on your home server.
Then go to your developer home page on the Teachpoint server
and click Update Course Files.
