Create a course

The steps in creating a Teachpoint course are the following:
  1. Design the outline of your course, and convert this to a course document.
  2. Generate lesson and exercise documents.
  3. Put all these files online on your "home" server. Content files will be read from this server by the Teachpoint server and cached; other files, such as images, will be read from this server as students take the course. Make sure the location of the content files matches the url_base tag of the course file.
  4. Find a Teachpoint server, either the server at www.teachpoint.com or one that you install and operate yourself.
  5. Create an account for yourself on this server.
  6. Go to the developer home page, click on Create Course, and enter the URL of your course file.
  7. If your course or content files have syntax errors, correct them and create the course again.
  8. When the course is created successfully, not the URL of its home page. Test the course.
  9. Distribute the home page URL of your course to students.
  10. Periodically use the Teachpoint tools to analyze your course.
  11. If you want to change the course, modify the files on your home server. Then go to your developer home page on the Teachpoint server and click Update Course Files.
